ANCIENT CHAN MEDITATION IMMERSION

Immerse yourself in the ancient teachings of Heart Chan, an unbroken lineage traced back over 1500 years, leading generations of practitioners to clarity, truth, fulfillment, and inner peace. Miaoming, the spiritual leader of Heart Chan in North America, will lead you on this path to discovery, having received a “heart imprint” or transmission of teachings directly from the 85th Patriarch of the Order of Chan. Heart Chan provides an authentic, but ‘living’ practice that addresses the challenges of modern life and creates a space for people from all backgrounds and faiths to experience clarity of self (self-awareness) and growth. “Introduction to Chan Practice” is a friendly and unpretentious way to discover and experience this practice and how it might fit into your life. You will leave with fundamental skills to establish and maintain a meditation practice. As well as an understanding of how to integrate a meditation practice into your daily life, while at the same time enhancing your pre-existing yoga practice.

Miaoming is the spiritual leader and CEO of Heart Chan in the United States. Heart Chan is a global spiritual organization that shares the ancient teachings and practice of Chan meditation. Miaoming was tasked with establishing Heart Chan in the United States after receiving a direct “heart imprint” or transmission of teachings from Chan Master Miaotian. Since 2011, he has been dedicating his life to sharing the transformational practice of Chan meditation with western cultures. He leads meditation workshops across the country and internationally with a specific focus on applying Heart Chan teachings to the challenges of modern-day life. Miaoming also has a very interesting personal journey, with more than 40 years of extensive practice in various disciplines, Miaoming brings deep knowledge and experience in Chan (Zen) meditation, Martial Arts, Qigong and traditional Chinese medicine. He explored his spiritual practice while working in corporate America and living abroad in China. Miaoming spent more than 30 years in the energy sector and prior to that served in the United States Navy as a technical instructor and was trained as a search and rescue pilot.

FREE: Guiness World Book Record Breaker: Largest Partner Yoga Class

Beautiful things happen when people come together, work together, and use the power of each's individual strength to support one another. The festival would not be possible without this: San Diego Yoga Festival is a movement created only by the masses coming together.

One of the best part of a festival experience is the people that are met on this healthy weekend. SDYF 2017, 2018 and 2019  created numerous new relationships in friendship, health, love, and business.  We are excited to see what relationships are formed or further nurtured this year!

Can we do it? Can we break the record for the largest partner yoga class?! Last year we tried but didn't do it. This year we can! COme together and invite your friends! Let's make history in San Diego!

Join founder of San Diego Yoga Festival + Yoga With Shawna, Shawna Schenk, as she leads thsis 30 minute partner yoga class in a playful and fun heart-opening way with live music and special guests including the mayor and  councilmen of IB!

No partner need for this class: simply come with an open heart ready to receive. Beginner friendly.

Last year we attempted to break a world record: this year we will do it! We must have 2, 547 people to break the World Record for the Largest Partner Yoga Class (this record is currently held by Wanderlust!). Bring your friends and tell everyone! Let's put San Diego on the map!
